Question: Why is the first service at approx. 7500 miles?

2015 Honda CRV. Driver Side maintenance schedules show the first oil change at 7500 miles but subsequent ones are at 3750 mile intervals. Why?
Also, it shows tire rotation at 7500 and I am getting a maintenance warning from Driver Side that I need to rotate them now (at 5900 miles). Why?

The Honda dealership told me to wait for the wrench icon to appear then go in for service. With semi synthetic oil I think the interval is longer.
